Religious Deism: a non-revealed, religious alternative to secular deism and Christianity

If you are viewing this website, you are almost certainly searching for something different and more fulfilling than what you previously believed about God and the afterlife.  And, if you believe in and are looking for the following five things, Religious Deism is where you belong.

INTRODUCTION TO RELIGIOUS DEISM

This reason-based theology, focused on God (and no other entities) and the belief in an afterlife (a heaven but not a hell) while maintaining a religious focus is Religious Deist theology or Religious Deism or simply referred to as “RD”. We are setting up this website in the hope that others might find the peace of mind that we have found from Religious Deism and so that others can identify people with whom they share theological beliefs and moral values.

This reason-based, non-revealed religious/theological alternative was developed as a result of varied religious and intellectual upbringing and experiences. RD takes from some classical deist, American founding fathers, and Christian foundations. And, while there are some similarities with modern secular deism, in reality Religious Deism is something very different from and more religious than this other somewhat disorganized, vague and relativist group. We believe that RD theology is not entirely new or overly complex, but it is innovative, fresh, comprehensive, and we believe without contradictions, something that should resonate with the average man on the street looking for answers to questions that other religions and theologies avoid or simply cannot offer. And, the RD theology contained in this website will be expanded on in a book that will be ready in 2018 called Religious Deism – The Search for Contradictionlessness.

REASON BASED THEOLOGY - RELIGIOUS DEISM IN DEPTH

Search for Contradictionlessness - its role in reasoned religion and its absence from revealed religion

Who should be most interested in the Religious Deist message?

"Religious Deism offers frustrated Christians and disillusioned agnostics a non-revealed religious and theological alternative."

Search for Contradictionlessness - its role in reasoned religion like Religious Deism and its absence from revealed religion like Christianity

"Religious Deism and its search for Contradictionlessness can and should become as self-evident as the importance and truth of parenthood when parents see their child for the first time..."
"This tolerance for ambiguity and acceptance of contradictions is prevalent in Christian beliefs and theology."

Importance of God as a centerpiece in our lives – 6 important questions

"Without the right theological and spiritual mindset, humanity will find it extremely difficult to maintain its dedication to good works and action on behalf of others..."
"Do you recognize that we are all theological agnostics since no one can empirically prove the existence of God?"

Misunderstandings – deism, deism vs theism, and revealed vs non-revealed religion.

"Religious Deists, and no other deists, hold that there must be an afterlife based on God´s benevolence and our special place in His plans.
"God is purposefully deistic in this life and theistic in the next life."

Religious Deism – Filling a religious void while taking the best from deism, Christianity and even agnosticism

"Religious Deism offers an alternative theology that has the potential to fill the void between Christianity and atheism as a viable third option..."
"RDs are agnostics about Jesus being the Son of God in the same way that agnostics are about the existence of God."
"RDs like Christians are non-relativists in their moral stances and pro-organized religion in its outlook".

Religious Deism - definitely religious but very different from modern/secular deism

"It is also a considerably more logical, non-contradictory…..theology with greater potential for traction than the "theology" that classical deists offered the American founding fathers."
"Religious Deism fills this void by being on one hand religiously-focused and hope-filled while also being incredibly clear and reason-based, something that revealed religions, secular deism and atheism cannot offer."

Raising Children and Loving Families

"We should be raised to believe that children are essential in the context of our humanity, our humanism and for RDs in the context of their theology."
"Children without theology are misguided but theology without children is false and empty."
"In the context of RD beliefs in our "humanness" and their reason-based theology, it would be inappropriate to love God more than their children."

Religious Deism and the Challenges and Pressures of Modern Society

"If life is about doing the right thing by others but there is no right and wrong, where is our moral compass?"
"The relativist attitude is often confused with tolerance...that implies respectful disagreement and coexistence while relativism does not."

Analyzing the Religious Beliefs of the American Founding Fathers

Did you know that the American founding fathers, some of the most brilliant political and theological minds of all time and the visionaries of the US system of government, were neither traditional nor Biblical Christians? Were you aware that their historical times dictated that they remain self-professed Christians despite the fact that they were almost certainly de facto Religious Deists believing in the tenants of reason-based deist theology?
