Isaac Asimov and Religious Deism beliefs

The noted author and scholar, Issac Asimov, once said: “Do not let your ideology stop you from doing what is right”.

Asimov, an atheist/humanist, also said: “If I were not an atheist, I would believe in a God who would choose to save people on the basis of the totality of their lives and not the pattern of their words. I think he would prefer an honest and righteous atheist to a TV preacher whose every word is God..”

Religious Deists would agree with these statements and see them as a strong reenforcement of the idea that how you act and treat others is more important than what you profess to believe in. And, if one’s ideology goes against what they believe to be “right”, it is likely that there exists a contradiction between what they profess to believe and what they actually believe, something which goes against a search for contradictionlessness, one of Religious Deism’s theological pillars.
